Chiropractic
Orthopedists are Doctors of Chiropractic who are licensed to practice in all 50
states, Canada and many other countries of the world. The Doctor of
Chiropractic has specialized training in corrective adjustment of the spine and
other joints of the body and the examination and treatment of its soft tissue
structures. The Doctor of Chiropractic uses essentially natural methods in the
care of the body.
The Chiropractic Orthopedist has extensive
advanced clinical training in the specialty spanning several years beyond the
four-year course leading to the degree of Doctor of Chiropractic. The
Chiropractic Orthopedist must pass comprehensive examinations and, when carried
to the highest academic level, is certified by our national certification board
as a Diplomate of the American Board of Chiropractic Orthopedists.
The Chiropractic
Orthopedist has specialized training in examining, diagnosing and treating conditions
affecting bones, joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, cartilage and their
related nerve structures. The Chiropractic Orthopedist utilizes all diagnostic
tools such as x-ray and laboratory procedures to reach a definitive diagnosis.
The Chiropractic Orthopedist utilizes the specific use of physical therapy,
nutrition, joint supports, corrective devices, exercises and home therapy
regimens for patient care. If needed, the Chiropractic Orthopedist refers
patients to specialists in allied health care fields, including surgery, The
Chiropractic Orthopedist has chosen to limit practice to the neuromusculoskeletal
structures and remains abreast of the latest research and developments in this
field through continuing education. .
The Chiropractic Orthopedist is used by the
general practitioner for consultation, by the legal and insurance professions
for evaluation and treatment of patients, and the courts for the giving of
expert testimony. Patients who suffer from conditions which have not responded
favorably to previous treatment may seek a doctor with specialized training in
conservative treatment methods. That doctor is the Chiropractic Orthopedist.
